Sue Nelson appointed as Secretary of the Auxilary and is along side Treasurer Dawn Shaffer and President Belen Poltorak.
IOBGHF Grant to SMYC!
The International Order of the Blue Gavel Humanitarian Foundation has awarded a grant of $400.00 to the Santa Margarita Yacht Club Chapter of IOBG at Camp Pendleton. This grant will sponsor youth ages 8 to 23 years old in furthering their sailing, kayaking and water skills at the Del Mar Marina on Camp Pendleton. The deed of gift for this award is presented to chosen applicants each year at the Opening Day ceremony of SMYC.
Funds for the Youth Award are acquired by SMYC with fundraisers, raffles and donations, this grant helps in providing both class and rental fee, as well as books and lifejackets for the individuals participating.
Thank you to the Humanitarian Foundation for their continued assistance in encouraging youth programs in the yachting community.
